“Blank Space” Wall Hanging

•Hand-crafted wall weaving created on a lap loom with mixed media. Mixed yarn and burlap threads from Pachamama Coffee ☕️

•This weaving uses several techniques including negative space, tabby weave, and herringbone.

•the disarray of the natural burlap fibers inspires the naming of this piece.

•Wall hangings and woven tapestries have been around for centuries. Wall hangings are time consuming and very labor intensive. A lot of love goes into hand weaving.

•Not every wall hanging is perfect and each handmade piece has natural flaws. This gives each wall hanging a little bit of character.

•Handle each piece gently. Some pieces may come loose if moved around too aggressively.  Any untucked pieces can be tucked back in behind the wall hanging.

•The artist has been weaving on a loop for two years, and frequently instructs others on her art.

•Weaving is therapeutic but takes some time to learn

•Wall hangings take time and practice but are easy to make. It takes patience, practice and creativity!
